1. Gold-filled is a quality, jeweller-grade product. It consists of 14K cost heat fused to a jeweller's brass core. A stronger option than most pure gold and has a similar longevity.
2. Silver-filled is less well-known. It also has a jeweller-grade brass core with a fused layer of sterling silver on top. It is then coated with an anti-tarnish material.  A cheaper alternative to .925 sterling with all the beauty. Silver-filled won't last as long as pure silver or real Rhodium but offer better longevity than typical inexpensive alloy ear wires.
